Hi, I’m Andrea Mortello.
Why do we love, argue, withdraw, and reach for each other the way we do? What if the way you show up in your relationships was learned long before you chose it?
In my work, I help people identify those patterns, learn a new way of doing things, and practice it, with a clear vision of who they want to become. I want people to take risks and try new ways of being in their lives, because that’s where real change happens.
People come to me for many reasons: strain in a marriage or partnership, patterns that keep repeating, the lingering effects of early or relational trauma, or a sense that they’ve outgrown who they used to be.
I bring together relational, body-based, and parts-based approaches, informed by my training in Somatic Experiencing, EMDR, Focusing, Parts work, and Relational Life Therapy.
We look at the patterns between people, like pursuing and distancing, shutting down, and control. We learn how the nervous system works and how to settle it. We get to know the different parts of ourselves, including the ones we’ve hidden. And we practice newways of showing up in your relationships and in your life.
I work with individuals, couples, and groups, in person and online. I help you understand yourself, build skills that last, and find a way of being in relationship that brings connection and joy.

Modalities and Credentials:
My practice holistically integrates insight and training from a number of therapeutic and healing traditions, both bottom-up and top-down.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP), trained in Peter Levine's body-oriented approach to healing trauma and stress. Building on that foundation, I have also trained in Integral Somatic Psychology with Raja Selvam and in Focusing-Oriented Therapy with Maureen Gallagher, both of which deepen the felt sense of the body as a resource for healing and attachment repair. I am additionally trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a distinct approach to trauma resolution, holding certification in its foundational level.
On the relational side, I am a certified Relational Life Therapist, having trained for over six years with Terry Real, the founder of RLT, and I bring his model to much of my work with couples and individuals navigating relationship issues. This is complemented by my training in Pia Mellody's Post Induction Therapy model, received through Jan Bergstrom, one of Pia's senior teachers, which is parts work focused on healing developmental and relational trauma and re-parenting the wounded parts of the self.
Finally, my training in Caroline Myss's archetype work and a mindfulness-based spiritual direction practice keep me attuned to energy and presence in the therapeutic relationship, adding a dimension of meaning-making to the clinical work.
Together, these trainings let me meet you wherever you are, whether that means working through the body, the nervous system, your relationships, or the stories inherited from your past, so that you can live with more coherence, courage, and truth.
